RUNWAY SHOW "CATEGORIES"
1ST MARCH 2025
An investigation into the role of clothing in contemporary society.
The collection deconstructs the social categorizations linked to clothing that still today regulate appearance and identity, challenging the concept of uniform and redefining aesthetic codes.
Throughout history, fashion has separated classes, roles and statuses, assigning rigid meanings to garments. Today, although these divisions seem less clear-cut, the mechanisms of judgment remain, transforming into new conventions. The collection breaks these patterns through hybrid silhouettes, stylistic contaminations and a dialogue between the rigor of the professional world and the individualism expressed, for example, by tattoos. In an era where everything is accessible, but choices seem limited by predefined logics, this collection rejects imitation and homologation, affirming instead the power of free will.
“A dress is not something that nails us to an identity: on the contrary, it is something that allows us to multiply it, to add to our body unforeseen possibilities, not necessarily ours, not necessarily personal.”
For the fashion show, the space is transformed into an environment that amplifies this dialogue between conformity and freedom, between rules and individuality. A visual story that subverts expectations, placing the viewer in front of a new aesthetic and social narrative.
The image of the Molotov cocktail is used conceptually as an invitation to the show. Historically associated with acts of radical protest and resistance against oppression and the established order, the object is used as a metaphor for the theme of the collection, conveying a message of defiance against social structures that impose rigid categories.
